“For jaded people, the only pleasure left is to demolish others.” - Anaïs Nin

The entitled, destructive impulses that characterize our Tik-Tok generation highlight the inadequacies of our current political discourse. The individualism, self-monetization, and greed necessary for survival in today’s competitive labor market amplified our worst impulses. The collective nature of populist movements reverberates with audiences broken by social isolation and family breakdown.

Membership in this yet unnamed generation captures a sense of cynical youth that see no future other than one we fuck up. Social media magnifies any broadcasting moment, desensitizing us to its inevitable tragic conclusion. Clickbait culture of our digital age nurtures fragmentation, conflicts between each other, and the eventual hardening of worldviews for generations to come.

Virtual Love with Tinder, where the need for humanism increases. With its 'impossible-to-put-down UX' (learning carefully about the biases and prejudices against us to narrow our searches to filter out non-matches), the app gives us relevance by simplifying our life just enough that we never really have to deal with any hard questions.

The digital culture surrounding the generation at hand propels hunching over a phone as we consume hours of content throughout the day. We live saturated lives full of 15-second video circulations and salacious witticisms from peers crossing over every second on our exhausted feeds. We get used to this masochistic consumption habit, and when we have a break, we feel jaded.
